No insurance? We can help you get screened for cancer.
The Cancer Services Program (CSP) provides breast, cervical and colorectal cancer screenings, as well as diagnostic and case management services, to St. Lawrence County residents that are uninsured and underinsured. The program is available to those without health insurance, or those that have health insurance that does not cover the cost of screenings. Eligible participants must also meet income eligibility and age requirements and live in New York State. Additionally, the program can offer men and women age 50 and older free take-home colon cancer screening tests and women age 40 and older access to free clinical breast exams, mammograms, pelvic exams, and PAP and HPV tests. Screening and diagnostic services are provided at local hospitals, clinics, health centers and doctors' offices throughout St. Lawrence County.
CSP will pay for follow up diagnostic testing if any abnormalities are found by a screening test. A case manager is also assigned to clients to ensure required follow-up care is accessible and can be obtained. Individuals diagnosed with breast, cervical or colorectal cancer may also be eligible to enroll in the NYS Medicaid Cancer Treatment Program to receive full Medicaid coverage during treatment. For more information about this program, contact the Cancer Services Program of St. Lawrence County at (315) 261-4760, ext. 238.
