Massena Memorial Hospital is a participating provider in health plan networks; examples include Medicare, Medicare Managed Care, Medicaid, Medicaid Managed Care, Blue Cross, St. Lawrence-Lewis, Pomco, Resolve, Fidelis, United Healthcare, Tricare, MetroKingston, and Aetna. Some health plans use smaller networks for certain products they offer so it is important to check whether we participate in the specific plan you are covered by.

It is also important for you to know that the physician services you receive in the Hospital are not included in the Hospital’s charges. Physicians who provide services at the Hospital may be independent, private practice physicians or they may be employed by the Hospital. Physicians bill for their services separately and may or may not participate in the same health plans as the Hospital. You should check with the physician arranging your Hospital services to determine which plans that physician participates in. Plan participation information for physicians employed by the Hospital can be requested by calling the MMH Patient Financial Counseling Department at (315) 769-4219. Massena Memorial Hospital contracts with a number of physician groups, such as emergency room physicians, anesthesiologists, radiologists, pathologists, and telemedicine providers to provide services at the Hospital. Contact information for the physician groups the Hospital has contracted with is available upon request by calling the MMH Patient Financial Counseling Department at (315)769-4219. You should contact these groups directly to find out which health plans they participate in.
You should also check with the physician arranging for your Hospital services to determine whether the services of any other physicians will be required for your care. Your physician can provide you with the name, practice name, mailing address and telephone number of any physicians whose services may be needed. Your physician will also be able to tell you whether the services of any physicians employed or contracted by Massena Memorial Hospital are likely to be needed, such as anesthesiologists, radiologists, pathologists and/or telemedicine providers. Hospitals are required by law to make information available about their standard charges for the items and services they provide. This information is available by contacting the MMH Patient Financial Counseling Department at (315)769-4219. Please be aware that charges for your care may vary based on your pre-existing conditions, severity of your illness, and/or procedures performed, for example. Physician charges are separate from Hospital charges and include for example, Hospital employed providers, anesthesiologists, pathologists, radiologists, emergency room physicians and telemedicine providers.
If you do not have health insurance, you may be eligible for assistance in paying your Hospital bills. Information about financial assistance is available upon request by contacting the Hospital at (315)842-3067 or (315)769-4219.
Services and Amenities
Gift Shop
The MMH Gift Shop is located on the Lower Level. From the main lobby take the hallway to the right of registration and the gift shop will be on your left across from the stairwell.
The gift shop provides unique selections of gifts and other items to meet a wide variety of gift-giving needs.
Hours are Monday to Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and every other Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, call (315) 769-4268.
Cafeteria
The cafeteria is located on the main floor next to the Emergency Department.
The cafeteria is open for ala carte from 6:15 a.m. to 5:45 p.m on weekdays.
- Breakfast is served from 7:00-10:30 a.m. (hot breakfast when available weekdays, ala carte daily)
- Lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (daily)
- Dinner is served from 4:30 to 5:45 p.m. (weekdays only)
Cafeteria closes at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sundays and holidays. Vending machines and a Keurig Coffee Machine are availble in the cafeteria.
There are vending machines with drinks, snacks and food items available 24 hours a day. A change machine is located near the vending machines.
