The Jules of Life Foundation (JOL) is a 501(c)3 organization founded in May 2009. The foundation was originally created to provide financial assistance and support to families battling pediatric cancer in St. Lawrence County through fundraisers such as Hero of the Year, the Basketball Challenge and the Talent Challenge.
In September 2014, Jules of Life expanded its mission to become a primary information resource for families facing pediatric cancer in St. Lawrence County. The foundation focused on building a website containing important information regarding travel, local and out-of-state resources, financial assistance, pertinent contacts, and available services to assist families during their cancer journeys. In April 2016, the foundation received a grant from the St. Lawrence Cancer Fund to expand its mission and website to include resources and support for individuals of all ages facing all forms of cancer in St. Lawrence County—not just pediatric cancer. It was an honor for Jules of Life to broaden its reach and assist everyone in the county navigating cancer care. A team was assembled to create a comprehensive website housing relevant information ranging from financial and emotional support to spiritual care and local services for all individuals and families affected by cancer. It has been a privilege to partner with our local heroes in the fight of their lives. It takes a village, and a village we are. |
